Activist Care/Stress Management Coaching
Support navigating the stress of turbulent times
The news, the violence, the world… it is all a lot to hold right now. Anyone who is informed and engaged right now is likely exhausted and overwhelmed.
Many are struggling to navigate grief and fear, while also pushing for change. Lauren is here to help.
This type of coaching is for those who fit any of these:
You’re part of an activism/advocacy group, and people are burning out
You watch/read the news every day and feel overwhelmed/hopeless about it
You are taking frequent action to address current crises, and it feels like it’s not enough
You are navigating health risks or challenges due to stress
People around you are suffering, and your ability to support them is diminishing
As a community organizer, Lauren has been highly engaged in activism through volunteer efforts and full-time work with nonprofits for over 10 years. She has learned what creates opportunities for success (and different ways to measure it), and what causes burnout and movement decline. She is passionate about supporting those who are on the front lines of work today, pushing against forces of oppression and injustice to protect those most targeted.
Her approach combines 12 years of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction practices with political movement philosophy focused on justice, equity, and collective liberation (implementing frameworks from leaders such as Angela Davis, Mariame Kaba, adrienne maree brown, Margaret Killjoy, etc.).
She provides activist care workshops for movement groups, as well as individual coaching. Previous and upcoming workshops include “Sustainable Activism at the End of the World,” “Find Your Focus,” and “Finding Joy in Darkness.” The goal is for all participants to leave with at least one framework or habit change that will make their efforts (and the movement toward a better future as a whole) more sustainable.
Book a Free 30-Minute Coaching Call: During that time, she will listen to what you're struggling with and provide suggestions for the activism burnout or stress you're experiencing.
Disclaimer: Lauren is not a medical doctor or a licensed therapist. Her coaching suggestions are based on her lived experiences and various other sources (books by doctors, mindfulness practitioners, etc.). She does not provide medical advice, but rather, a compassionate perspective on what could be helpful in managing stress.
